On April 4,
2003, the Robert H. Mollohan Foundation scholarship winners
were honored at a reception that was held at the Alan B.
Mollohan Innovation Center in Fairmont, West Virginia.
This year, the Mollohan Foundation chose 56 scholarship
winners, 50 of which were recipients of the High Technology
Scholarship Program, the Foundation’s largest.
The honorees are all high school seniors choosing to
pursue a degree in a technology field.
The
Foundation also started three new scholarship programs this
year including the Mid-Atlantic Aerospace Scholarship, the
Mary Olive Eddy Jones Art Scholarship and the Martha Stuart
Oden Scholarship.
All
of the recipients in attendance had the opportunity to meet
the Foundation’s Board of Directors, as well as the
companies who participate in the Mollohan Foundation
Internship Program. Each
scholarship winner has the chance to participate in a summer
internship program with a high-tech company.
The internship is an important part of the scholarship
programs, and the reception gave the students the opportunity
to become familiar with the companies.
The
Foundation would like to congratulate all of this year’s
scholarship recipients.
