VISION
APPALACHIA
Vision
Appalachia is a West Virginia based non-profit organization
that is built on three decades of ministry and community
development. In
1998, World Vision, World Servants, and the Appalachian
Community CARE joined forces and started Vision Appalachia as
an organization which focuses on four basic programs including
Children and Youth, Community Resources, Mission Projects, and
Community Transformation.
The Vision Appalachia program has many goals that
include developing and managing programs that support
community centers where the Christian community can come
together and provide resources to improve the lives of the
families and communities.
The program currently has three community centers in
West Virginia neighborhoods in Barbour County, Taylor County,
and Braxton-Gilmer Counties.
The program has a vision to change the outlooks of
young lives, to bring hope and enthusiasm to the local
communities, and to provide educational resources and training
to the families in the surrounding counties.
These visions are accomplished through different
programs including Vision Youth, KidREACH, Community
Leadership, Mission Projects, and Week-End Work Projects.
The Robert H. Mollohan Foundation Community Grant Program awarded Vision Appalachia a
grant to help support their community programs.
