Fairmont Sophomore receives Grant for Technology Forum

On February 5, 2003, Ray Oliverio and Kelly Robinson, of the Robert H. Mollohan Family Charitable Foundation, presented East Fairmont High School sophomore Andrew Spring with a $500 Board of Directors Discretionary Grant.  The funds will be used to help support the student’s trip to the 2003 National Youth Leadership Forum on Technology.  Andrew will be representing the state of West Virginia at the annual forum held in San Jose, California.  At the forum he will be attending several seminars relating to computers and technology and he will also have the privilege of listening to key note speakers such as Michael Dell from Dell Computers.  The young man was nominated, for this ten-day experience, by his counselor at his high school.  He then applied to the national organization and was accepted to attend the conference.  We are proud that Andrew will be representing our state.  We wish him the best of luck during this once-in-a-life time experience, and we look forward to hearing about what he learned from the professionals in Silicon Valley.
