On
September 15, 2002 the Robert H. Mollohan Family Charitable
Foundation hosted an art exhibit and reception in honor of
Mary Olive Eddy Jones, a 91-year-old artist from Fairmont,
West Virginia.
Mrs. Jones was a kindergarten teacher in Fairmont for
over thirty years and has recently published her first book, A
Bird Walk Through the Bible.
The book, written by Mrs. Jones and published by the
Robert H. Mollohan Family Charitable Foundation, is an
inspirational story and a collection of her watercolor
paintings.
At the reception Mrs. Jones signed her book, for her
friends, family, and former students, who attended the
memorable event.
The book and many other pieces of artwork were
available for sale as well.
The community was able to purchase sets of greetings
cards and large and small prints, all of which were reproduced
from the original artwork of Mrs. Jones.
The proceeds from the sale of the artwork, and the book,
will go to fund a scholarship in honor of the beloved teacher.
Mrs. Jones’ book and other items are all available
through the MountainMade Foundation.
