The
Calhoun County High School Band received the Foundations very
first community grant on December 10, 2001.
The Committee on Community Outreach felt that the band
would be a great organization to start off the program because
its goals are parallel to the mission of the Community Grant
Program. The band
received a grant to help bring their program back to
full capacity. The
funding will help the organization repair their instruments so
that they can have more students involved in the after school
activity. At
Calhoun County High School, music classes are not offered to
the students, therefore the band program is the only way for
the students to utilize their musical talents.
Currently the band has over 50 members and they perform
for many different events at the school including football
games and holiday concerts.
