The West Virginia Center for
Entrepreneurial Enterprise was recently awarded a $5,000
community outreach grant by the Mollohan Family Charitable
Foundation.
The West Virginia Center for Entrepreneurial Enterprise
strives to provide education and opportunity for West
Virginians who are interested in developing their personal
capacity to contribute to the social and economic future of
the state. They currently offer workshops, seminars,
conferences, and mentoring experiences to expose clients to
the positive steps they can take to empower themselves
through education, employment, entrepreneurial spirit,
networking, and community service.
One of the newest projects involves installing a full
service commercial kitchen facility at their center to be
used at the Second Annual Entrepreneurial Camp for Kids in
Upshur County. The Mollohan Foundation grant will be used to
purchase equipment for the “Can Do” kitchen which will be
used to provide more intense hands-on training. The “Can Do”
kitchen will be available to camp graduates for special fund
raising activities throughout the year. Additionally, the
“Can Do” kitchen will be used to sell hot chocolate and
cookies at the Christmas Parade and home-made pies during
the Christmas holidays.
