University of Charleston/Motion Masters Awarded Grant

In April 2007, the MotionMasters, Inc. and the University of Charleston received a $2,500 joint grant from the Robert H. Mollohan Family Charitable Foundation, Inc. The grant money will contribute to the production of the documentary entitled "Temple of Democracy: West Virginia State Capitol."

MotionMasters and the University of Charleston have partnered to successfully tackle this production. The University of Charleston assists in the research aspect of the project along with setting up interviews and locating artifacts.

MotionMasters is a team of talented storytellers who encourage quality in all aspects of life. As a result, the regional Chamber of Commerce honored MotionMasters with the "Expect the Best from West Virginia" award. This award recognizes organizations that make notable contributions to improving quality and enhancing West Virginia’s image.

MotionMasters is West Virginia’s premiere film, video and multimedia production company. MotionMasters has been producing commercials, documentaries, educational videos and corporate video work since its founding on Groundhog’s Day 1987.

Producers envision the documentary will initially be used as an anchor for West Virginia Day festivities on June 20, 2007. "Temple of Democracy: West Virginia State Capitol," will have a perpetual shelf life. Producers will secure airtime with West Virginia Public Broadcasting. The Director of TV Programming for WV PBS anticipates the documentary would air three times the first year, and every year in June for the state’s anniversary.

In addition, this documentary will become part of the permanent collections of West Virginia libraries and secondary schools. The documentary and its accompanying website will also be available to generations of historians, architects, and others who wish to gain further insight into the style and skill of one of our nations’ architects.
