The Robert H.
Mollohan Family Charitable Foundation has awarded a community
outreach grant to the Mountaineer Boys and Girls Club in
Morgantown, WV. Teah
Bayless presented a check for $3,591 to Irv Schetzner, Board
Chairman, in early May. The
money will be used to enhance the educational offerings to
clients served at the Boys and Girls Club this summer.
Each summer,
the Mountaineer Boys & Girls Club serves over 100 kids on
a daily basis. Many
of those served are from low-income, single parent homes. The
money provided will supplement other funds that will allow all
Club members, regardless of their ability to pay, to
participate in a minimum of seven fun and educational field
trips. In
addition, the funding received will allow the Club to purchase
much needed supplies for their summer program, including such
things as art supplies, calculators, and dictionaries.
The
Mountaineer Boys and Girls Club is open to all youth ages
6-16. The Club
provides a safe, nurturing environment filled with great after
school programming including homework help, music, art,
sports, and life skills classes.
The Club is open Monday through Friday from 7:30-6pm
during the summer and 2-8pm during the regular school year.
