In early October, Teah Bayless of Morgantown, joined the staff of the West Virginia High Tech Foundation Consortium as Program Manager of the Robert H. Mollohan Family Charitable Foundation. Teah succeeds Kelly Robinson, who left the foundation earlier in the fall to pursue a master’s degree at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte.
Bayless, a native of Halifax, Virginia, has worked for several nonprofits since her graduation from Hollins University in 1997. Although Teah majored in Biology with the intent on going on to medical school, she has instead found herself working for some of the most recognized nonprofits in the United States- the YMCA, American Red Cross, and most recently, the Boys & Girls Club. Whether its community relations, program management, or volunteer recruitment, Teah has become a “jack of all trades.”
Teah and her husband, Charlie, moved to Morgantown in the fall of 2001. Prior to their move, the couple resided in Tucson, Arizona. While there, Teah gained her most significant work experience to date as Director of Health and Safety Services for the Southern Arizona Chapter American Red Cross. In this position, Teah was able to refine her management, organizational, and community relations skills, as well as gain experience in marketing, public relations, and event planning.
Prior to joining the WVHTF staff, Teah served as Program Manager of the Mountaineer Boys & Girls Club in Morgantown. As Program Manager, she managed the day-to-day operations of the facility, planned programming, and worked with other community agencies to further the mission of the organization. Teah also helped secure funding for various educational, social, and recreational programming for the Club. Although Teah is no longer working for the Club, she continues to work with the organization as a volunteer.
